This is the shocking moment a furious passenger smashed a bus door after a driver refused to let him out at the traffic lights.

The public bus was stuck at a red light during heavy traffic on a flyover in Yangon, Myanmar, on June 29.

The unidentified man asked the bus driver if he could leave the middle of the road but he refused to open the passenger doors because it was against the bus regulations.

CCTV footage shows how the angry passenger repeatedly pressed the bell before reaching out to grab an emergency hammer, which could only be used in emergency situations.

He then violently hit the glass and removed the shattered with his feet, attempting to open the door. Unfortunately for him, the bus door stayed closed.

He was also heard swearing and saying: “Yeah, I did that. So what?” to the driver while kicking through the bus door.

Frustrated by his efforts, the young man adjusted his right shoe and continued kicking the right door until he finally could step outside the vehicle through the broken glass.

According to local media, the bus conductor went to the police station afterwards and gave the footage to the police. Some helpful passengers also went to the officers to give more details about the incident.

One passenger said: ''He was totally crazy. His aggressive behaviour could hurt other passengers too. I know he was in a hurry but so were we.

''I hope the police could identify him through the CCTV and punish him as quickly as possible.''

The bus operator, Omni Focus, appealed for help in identifying the man after the incident on the route between Hlaing Thar Yar and South Dagon.
