200-million-year history fairy shrimps discovered in pond in eastern China
Fairy shrimps, a rare species of Branchinella which could date back to 200 million years ago have been discovered in a pond near Hai Bin Da Dao in eastern China's Lianyungang city.
In the clip, shot on July 2, several fairy shrimps with red tails were caught and swimming in a bucket.
The shrimps were found by the engineers from the China Railway Port and Channel Engineering Group, who were working nearby.
Since the shrimps look as pretty as fairies, they were given the name as fairy shrimps.
