A desperate plea for assistance was received to help rescue a puppy stuck in a storm water drain.

The challenge - it was storming! With squalls of rain blowing through every so often and a light drizzle falling in between, the race against the weather to get to this puppy before the drain filled with water and drowned the dog.

After 4 and half hours of digging, and looking down pipes with drain camera's the dog was eventually spotted, and one of the rescuers managed to grab her through the pipe opening.

At some point however the drain had filled up with water, and the poor pup was drenched and developed canine flu over the following few days after her rescue. Sadly she didn't make it...
