Terrified stray dog rescued after being attacked by cruel locals
This is the harrowing moment a street dog was rescued after being brutally beaten by villagers.
Rescue volunteers were alerted after residents heard the dog whining in pain around the village canal in Uthai Thani, central Thailand on Tuesday night (09/07).
They believed that the dog ran away to hide himself in the bushes after he was violently attacked by cruel locals.
The skinny mutt looked exhausted when he was found lying on the bank. His right eye was blind and still bleeding from a brutal beating.
Footage from yesterday morning (10/07) shows how two rescuers crossed the water to approach the dog with the catcher and the rope.
The stray was too weak when the volunteers attempted to make him walk, so they had to tie the rope on his body before pulling him up to the ground.
More locals came to help carrying the dog under the tree before feeding him with water, food, and medicine.
He became better and finally could stand up twenty minutes after the rescue. The rescuers then brought him to a nearby animal hospital.
A resident said: ''We heard the dog crying all night like he was in a terrible pain. I was relieved when he was still alive.
''Now, he's in a good care of the vet. Meanwhile, we'll look for a place for him to stay so that he won't be hurt again.''
