This is the terrifying moment a deadly cobra spits VENOM at a fireman.

The experienced snake catcher, named Jirawat, donned a motorcycle helmet and bent down on all fours to square up to the reptile after it was caught at a home in Ang Thong, central Thailand, on June 20.

Footage shows how the cobra rears up with its hood spread before unleashing a stream of highly poisonous venom at its intended victim.

Jirawat said: ''Cobras are very dangerous but I wanted to show how they spit their venom.

''Anybody that has been hit with the sprayed venom can experience blistering of the skin or blindness if it enters their eyes.

''When cobra venoms enter the bloodstream of its victim, usually by being bitten, it can cause death within hours.''
