Surfers Clean Beach In The Philippines
Surfers and tourists work together to clean up the Amihan sa Dahican beach in Mati City, Davao, the Philippines on June 26. Surfing instructor Winston Plaza, who lives in the island, helped organize the event. The group was able to find sacks of plastic wastes, mostly from thrown water bottles. "Even the kids helped us clean the beach. Let's start in the very easy way of cleaning by simple picking plastics and throwing it in the proper way," he said. Amihan sa Dahican beach is a breeding spot for many species of turtles including Oliver Ridleys.
