Sirens blare as footage today (July 22) shows red flames and smoke pouring into the sky above The Mall in Walthamstow, London where a fire has engulfed the shopping centre.

The filmer commented saying "The wind was not helping and the blaze was getting worse" while a reported 25 fire engines were working on the blaze.

According to reports, one woman has been taken to hospital.

I left for work this morning around 8am and could see smoke everywhere, i thought someone was burning rubbish somewhere. When I got to Walthamstow Central which is about 1km away at around 8:15 I saw that the Mall was ablaze. Firefighters were on the scene already and working diligently to stop the fire getting worse, but the wind was not helping and the blaze was getting worse. Police and local authority then decided to evacuate the are and closed off access up to Hoe street E17.
