Hindu Balinese locals honor their God of War through the a ritual called the "Perang Pandan" or "Mekare-kare" as it is known locally. The gladiator-style ritual is done once a year by adult men in Tenganan Village in Bali, Indonesia. Mekare-kare is a sacred ritual held to honor Lord Indra, the god of war. Children in the village start practising the ritual at an early age by playing street fighting. The video was filmed at the event on June 24.
