Grade 2 listed bell tower in UK left burnt after lightning struck it
A Grade 2 listed bell tower went up in flames after being struck by lightning during the United Kingdom's heatwave.
Around 20 firefighters were called to the former fire station in Wimbledon, south-west London when the storm hit last night (July 25).
Footage shows smoke billowing from the burnt landmark before cherry pickers were used to survey the damage.
A Grade 2 listed building is defined as a UK building or structure that is "of special interest, warranting every effort to preserve it".
