Crazy moment captured as African wild dogs capture antelope then battle HYENAS for the carcass

The crazy moment is captured when a pack of African wild dogs surround an antelope in the river in Kruger National Park in South Africa before devouring it, but not before having to fight off hyenas on July 29.

The filmer provided a narrative description of the incredible events: "It was half an hour before sunrise when I arrived all by myself at one of my favorite viewpoints in a remote wilderness area of the Kruger National Park. I was there to film the sun rising over a beautiful river, so I started with setting up my camera gear. While busy setting up, I suddenly noticed some movement in the distance down below on the bank of the river. Before the sun could even rise, one of the most unreal wildlife sightings started playing off in front of me. I quickly realized it was a pack of African wild dog, out on their morning hunt. The wild dogs were chasing a young female nyala antelope along the river bank until the antelope decided to jump into the river in an attempt to escape the wild dogs. It all happened so quick and only started filming at this stage. The wild dogs were on both sides of the river with one making an attempt to swim after it but decided to get out as the antelope went in deeper. The wild dogs knew very well that this particular river is infested with huge crocodiles which I have seen on numerous occasions myself. So, there the poor young female antelope was sitting in a catch twenty-two scenario. Death by croc or death by wild dog. The antelope remained in the middle of the river and the dogs running up and down the bank. I used this opportunity to driver further down and get closer to the action. It was when I just got to a closer position when all hell broke loose. One wild dog decided enough is enough and started jumping through the water with serious intent, straight towards the adrenaline rushed female antelope. The young antelope didn’t get far and I could hear her screams of agony and pain as the wild dogs swarmed around her in the water, while taking bites out of her. The wild dogs are incredible hunters and almost always have a hundred percent success rate due to their team work. The whole pack knew they had to get their food to safety on land away from lurking crocs. As one unit, they pulled the screaming nyala female out the water, up the river bank and started feeding on her, five meters away from my vehicle. It was just blood, guts and bones crushing. I was totally blown away by what I was watching and all of it felt surreal. Thinking that the sighting reached a climax, things got even more crazy. One very brave hyena arrived on the scene out of nowhere. The hyena was there for a piece and literally went in between the wild dogs to grab a piece. It couldn’t be deterred by a few bites from the dogs and eventually got away with a decent sized stolen meat. The wild dogs finished off the young female antelope in under five mins. After the wild dogs were done, more hyenas arrived. There was a quick little scuffle between one dog and a hyena but they were done and the pack disappeared as quickly as they arrived. Like true hoovers of the bush, the hyenas quickly came in to sweep up what ever was left, which was not much. The hyenas quickly disappeared and after ten minutes of absolute chaos and terror, the whole area along the river became to very calm and quiet again, as if nothing happened. Definitely one of the craziest wildlife sightings I have ever seen."
