CCTV footage shows the moment a bomb exploded in a toy store - one of seven explosions around Bangkok on Friday, August 2.

Cameras show a suspect wearing a fedora hat and surgical mask while carrying a rucksack acting suspiciously inside the Miniso shop in the Siam Square shopping mall.

He entered the store at 3.36pm on Thursday, August 1 afternoon before hiding the device inside a row of teddy bears.

Flames then ripped through the shelf around 13 hours later at 4:45 am in the early hours of Friday morning while the shop was closed.

Police confirmed that the shop owners had made a complaint that the device was a bomb.

Police Colonel Thammanoon Boonruang told local media that the ''store filed a complaint with the police about the blast''.

The capital of Thailand was hit by at least seven blasts and at least three other possibly connected arson attacks causing panic on Friday. At least four people were injured in the blasts.

Security chiefs met on Friday. They believe the attacks are linked to Muslim insurgents in the south of the country along the border with Malaysia, where there is a long history of violence and bomb explosions.

Security and intelligence agencies chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwon met on Friday night.

Government Spokesperson Narumon Pinyosinwat on Saturday made reassurances the situation was under control.

She said that Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha was closely monitoring the situation.
