This is the moment a teenage girl was filmed making a desperate last phone call to her mother before being arrested by Hong Kong riot police.

The distressed girl, reportedly just 16-years-old, can be heard sobbing into her phone, "I'm so scared," while sat on the ground and being comforted by a medic and surrounded by riot police in Kowloon's Wong Tai Sin area on August 4.

Local reports said the girl was speaking to her mother at the time.

The medic in a high-vis jacket asks the girl, "Do you want call an ambulance?"

"I don’t feel well. i am so dizzy," the girl responds.

During the incident, police attempted to prevent the media from filming but according to the filmer, the girl said: "The press has a right to film me, thank you."

The girl later demands to see ID from the police, who refuse and arrest her. "I think your requirement is not reasonable," the police tell her. "We will take you to the police station. Don’t say it is a scam. Go to the police car right now. Take off your mask."
