The heartwarming moment is captured when a mother breaks down in tears Tuesday (August 6) after seeing her son pays her a surprise visit while she thought he was abroad studying.

Haikal Roslan, 20, left home for the first time at the start of the year to study Electrical, Electronic and Communications engineering at Toyo University in Saitama in Japan.

He was not planning to return to see his family in Malaysia but made a last-minute booking on the spur of the moment.

In the video, Haikal's mother cannot believe her eyes when she saw her son hiding at the back of their car. She is heard saying in Malaysia ''Why did you come back? I thought you were gone''. She then break down in tears and hugs her son.
