A fascinating video has emerged of a group of people engineering an ingenious hack to get their vehicle out of a ditch in northern India.

The incident took place near Rohtang Pass, a picturesque road located in the Himalayan town of Manali, a region located in Himachal Pradesh state.

Visual showed a red coloured SUV stuck in a ditch as people gathered near it.

Slowly, a group of people sat on the bonnet and asked the driver to press the accelerator.

Surely enough, the car moved ahead and with the help of the other people, it was taken out of the ditch.

It was a simple trick that was effectively put into use by the group.

By sitting on the bonnet, they put the weight on the front of the car, thus making it easier for the driver to take it out of the ditch.

Manmeet Singh, who filmed the act, told Newslions Media that they were on their way to Manali on June 17 when the car rolled back and fell into the ditch.

He said the group were positive and rallied together to get the car back on track.
