A sculptor carved stunning statues of gods, dragons and fish out of tree roots which are then placed in wine bottles in Hải Hậu, Vietnam.

According to the filmer of the time-lapse shot on June 26, the statues can take several hours to multiple days to be completed and are thought to cure joint problems.

This is the root of a tree called " Đinh lăng" in Vietnamese or "Polyscias Fruticosa" in English.
In Viet Nam, The root is used as a diuretic, febrifuge, anti-dysentery, and is employed for neuralgia and rheumatic pains.
The roots of this plant are used to soak with alcohol. Drinking alcohol-soaked from this root can prolong life and cure many diseases related to joints.
Instead of ugly roots are put into wine bottles. These men sculpted and turned these roots into statues of longevity gods or a picture of dragons or fish swimming.
To sculpt these statues requires skill and creativity. Each statue will take about 4 to 5 hours. Large statues can take up to several days.
