A woman was caught red-handed attempting to steal a couple of plant pots from the front drive of a house in Derby.

The footage, captured on Tuesday morning (August 12), shows a woman crouching down attempting to take the two potted plants before getting caught by the homeowner.

Helen Large, who can be seen in the window warding off the thief, told Newsflare: "I initially only saw the dog and was going to attempt to go out and then noticed the women knelt down under the window.

"I was shocked and surprised then realised what she was attempting to do so I banged on the window to let her know I was there and for her to move on."

Please find attached the video for your use. This happened on 12th August 19 at 0750am at my home on Trowels Lane in Derby.
The women had come from Derby Kingsway Retail park and had been going through the bins at Marks & Spencer’s (I spoke with the store manager yesterday)

I spoke with the police they just asked for the video evidence and said nothing else had been reported so they were closing the incident report. Ref is 19000425669
