Just an adorable clip of a family of endangered mountain gorillas lying in heap in the wild.

The video was captured back in January on the slopes of Mount Karisimbi in Rwanda.

According to the filmer, Ian Redmond, the apes were "completely at ease with their human visitors."

The mountain gorilla is one of the world's most endangered species but they are gradually increasing in numbers.

Since 2010, their population has grown by a quarter to just over 1,000.

Mountain gorillas are Endangered, but thanks to successful collaborative conservation efforts over the past 40 years, they are no longer Critically Endangered. Their numbers are slowly recovering and as a result, the IUCN in 2018 changed their conservation status - though with only just over a thousand in the world, there is no room for complacency. The #MountainGorillas' fragile recovery reminds us that the slide to extinction CAN be reversed if we put our minds to it. Let's celebrate endangered species to the point when they are no longer endangered.
