A Russian passenger plane performed an emergency landing earlier today (August 15) shortly after taking off from Moscow’s Zhukovsky International Airport.

The Crimea-bound plane was forced to land after it was struck by a flock of birds and lost power in both engines.

Aftermath footage of the crash shows an Airbus-321 stationed on a cornfield near Moscow.

At least 23 people were injured, media reported.

23 people were injured in an emergency landing of the A-321 aircraft, which flew in the morning from Zhukovsky Airport to Simferopol. On board were 234 people, including 7 crew members. When taking off, several large birds got into the liner's engines, after which it became almost impossible to fly and maneuver. The aircraft commander decided on an emergency emergency landing - the crew turned off the engines, did not release the landing gear and put the liner on a corn field in Ramensky district. By inflatable ramps, all passengers were evacuated from the passenger compartment. Arriving doctors assisted the victims on the spot, some of them were taken to hospitals. The remaining passengers and crew were delivered to the Zhukovsky airport building.
