These children have to ride a bamboo raft to cross a river and reach school because there is no proper bridge built for them yet. Footage of the children crossing the river was filmed by one of the mothers of the children, Jacqueline Amar. The video was taken in Pangasinan, the Philippines, last Wednesday (14/08). Jacqueline said: "It gets worse when there is a typhoon or heavy rain. We are cut off from the rest of the town because the river gets deeper and the current becomes stronger. When it's bad the children cannot go to school and our work is affected as well." The Philippines is a country in South East Asia comprised of more than 7,000 islands. Many remote regions are separated by bodies of water.
