A video has emerged of locals capturing a crocodile stranded in an overflowing river in deluge-hit western Indian village.

The incident reportedly took place on Aug. 20 morning at Etola village in Gujarat state's Vadodara city.

The big reptile can be seen snapping and wagging his tail in the middle of the overflowing river.

Rescue officials, along with locals, are seen risking their lives and trying to attempt the attacking beast with a long rope.

They are seen surrounding the croc and trying to capture it when it jumps out of the water.

However, the rescue personnel survived a minor scare when the reptile snapped and jumped in the air.

Finally, after making several attempts, they finally managed to pull out the crocodile out the river.

Some of the men were seen sitting on its body, while others gathered around the reptile to pacify the scaly beast.

In a similar incident that took place in the same area on Aug. 19, rescue officials captured and released a nearly 11-feet-long crocodile after it entered into a residential area, creating panic among the residents of the village.

Vadodara along with many other cities in Gujarat witnessed heavy rainfall over the past few days.

Along with a flood-like situation, the city also experiences infiltration by crocodiles, which are making the streets their permanent habitat because of the floods.

Earlier on Aug. 1, a video was widely circulated showing rescue officials rescuing a crocodile from a flooded street after it sneaked near a stray dog and tried to attack the canine at Lalbaug locality in Vadodara.
