This is the frightening moment when a car and a bus parked near a cliff falls into a gorge after a patch of road collapsed due to landslides in northern India.

The incident took place on Aug. 18 at Mori block in Uttarakhand state's Uttarkashi district.

The video shows boulders falling down the cliff and the vehicles parked nearby can be seen slipping and falling down the gorge.

A few other vehicles can be seen parked nearby.

In another incident that took place at the same spot on Aug. 18, a truck fell into a gorge as landslide, triggered by heavy rains hit the town.

Several videos of vehicles falling into gorges due to landslides in the area have surfaced on social media.

At least 31 people were killed and hundreds of tourists were left stranded as torrential rains in the hill states of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand triggered flash floods and landslides.

Flash floods in the Mori block of Uttarkashi district caused substantial damage.
