SA Government comes to aid of woman detained in Oman
South Africa’s deputy minister at the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Alvin Botes, held a media briefing with the family of Chloe Collins, who is detained in Oman.
Chloe Collins was detained in Oman on allegations that she and her brother are linked to a murder in the country. The Omani government has allegedly asked for her brother to hand himself over in exchange for her freedom.
Simone Carolissen, an attorney, has acted as the family spokesperson, in dealings with the South African government.
