Driver of Semi Truck Carrying Subway Restaurant Products Dumps Trailer That Catches Fire and Becomes Fully Involved Blocking Roadway and Causing Off Ramp Closure

SBCoFD and Cal Fire responded to a a semi truck fire. Arriving crews located a semi truck trailer dropped in the middle of the roadway and fully involved in fire. Firefighters initiated a heavy attack on the fire and achieved knockdown in about 20 minutes. The semi truck was carrying a load of Subway restaurant products. The driver and the cab were nowhere to be found, it's unknown if the driver dumped the trailer when the fire began as a a safety precaution or if the driver fled the scene. The offramp to Devore Road off the I-215 is expected to be shut down for an unknown period of time pending heavy cleanup of the roadway.
