Controversial billboard ads promoting the People’s Party of Canada and its anti-immigration policies will be taken down following “overwhelming” criticism, according to the company that owns the billboards.

The advertisement, which started appearing in cities across Canada last week, shows a photo of People's Party Leader Maxime Bernier with the slogan: "Say NO to mass immigration."

A petition calling on the advertising company to take down the “racist” ads had had more than 11,000 signatures by Sunday afternoon.
