A teenager has reeled in a huge arsenal of weapons including grenades, guns and knives from Britain's waterways since taking up magnet fishing.

George Tindale, 13, has recovered the deadly haul of firearms from rivers and canals since getting into the unusual hobby with his dad Kevin, 50, just a year ago.

In just the last four weeks alone, the schoolboy had uncovered two unexploded grenades, two military officers handguns, two pistols, a Pinfire Revolver 1880, and a machete.

The cache of weapons has been handed in to police after being pulled from the River Soar in Leicester and even led to the Bomb Squad being called out.
