LA Verne Fire Department responded with LACoFD to a major crash involving two vehicles. Arriving crews located a black hatchback in the middle of the roadway with major damage and a red sports car on the right hand side of the road completely destroyed. According to initial reports, at lest 5 patients were transported in critical condition. According to a witness, at least one of the patients required a medical airlift and the driver of the red sports car possibly fled the scene with officers giving chase. It's unknown if the suspect was taken into custody if witness statement is factual. The cause of the crash is unknown and under investigation. It's unknown if intoxication was a factor in the crash. White Ave from College to Towne Center will be closed in both directions for an unknown period.
