Video has emerged of a dog riding on the back of a motorbike in India.

The seemingly relaxed pooch was filmed riding pillion on 15 March in Sagar city, Madhya Pradesh state.

It is believed the dog belonged to the motorcycle rider as it wore a collar and seemed to be in good condition.

While not common, it is also not especially rare to see animals, including monkeys, riding on the back of motorbikes in India, where alternative transport may be unavailable or unaffordable.

Visual showed the dog seated on the back of a moped as it raced past the busy motorway.

Meanwhile, the unusual site surprised several commuters, some of whom shot the video.

A commuter was seen smiling after seeing the dog coolly balance itself on the seat while it moved.
