In yet another shocking instance of hit-and-run case, a speeding car mowed down several people in northern India.

The incident took place on Sept. 1 night at Delhi's Model Town area.

Video of the incident shows the driver of the car arguing with some people while driving through the crowd.

He suddenly accelerates the car and reverses into the crowd, hitting a few people on the way.

One of the men climbed on the car and tried to smash the windshield, but the driver started speeding.

The man standing on the bonnet can be seen send flying in the air.

Police said that one person has been injured in the accident

Locals have alleged that they had gathered around the car as the driver was harassing a woman in the area.

When people tried to protest his behaviour and stop him, the driver tried to flee the spot. People have claimed that the driver also hit a car as he tried to escaped.

The driver of the car is absconding. The Delhi Police has registered a case and is probing the incident.

In a similar incident that took place on July 21 in Maharashtra state's Navi Mumbai area, a speeding car ploughed through commuters, killing at least two, including a seven-year-old boy.
