Nothing to crow about! Indian man can summon hundreds of ravens by mimicking their sound
A central Indian man has made a bizarre claim of possessing the ability to converse with crows.
Corroborating his claim, a video showed the man calling out the ravens by imitating the bird's voice.
Soon enough, a flock of birds circled around him.
Akhilesh Bairagi, a resident of Badarwas village in Madhya Pradesh state's Shivpuri district, claims to possess 'god-gifted' ability to gather crows by mimicking their voices.
Akhilesh, who earns his bread by working as a painter, said that he discovered the unique talent eight years ago while visiting the Shree Bhuvaneswari Devi Temple.
He started mimicking the voice after hearing it.
He was rather surprised when he saw huge murder of crows assembling around him hearing his voice.
When his friends and family came to know about this 'rare talent', they decided to test it.
But, the results were the same. A large number of crows assembled around him, astonishing the gatherers.
After that Akhilesh came to be known by the name 'the crow whisperer'. His friends even call him a friend of crows.
Nowadays, Akhilesh is on high demand during the 'shraddh' ceremonies across the village.
A shraddh ceremony is held in honour and for benefit of deceased relatives in India.
Akhilesh says that due to the sudden decline in the numbers of the crows, people are not able to spot the birds during the ceremony and hence they call him.
Earlier, another man from the same village, Shiva Kewat, became a media sensation after stories of him emerged of him being targetted and attacked by a vengeful crow for the past three years.
The crow has been seeking revenge from Shiva to avenge the death of its young.
Crows are usually considered to be one of the smartest creatures in the world. They are admired for their intelligence and are known to outsmart even human beings.
