This is the gruesome moment a wild python regurgitated a family's pet CAT.

The 12ft snake was found curled up under piles of junk in the family's garden in Ang Thong, central Thailand, yesterday (04/08) afternoon.

Rescue workers arrived and dragged the greedy beast onto the driveway where it began to writhe and contort uncontrollably.

Having been disturbed from its planned digestion period - which would have lasted several weeks - the python was relaxed enough the keep the food down.

Stomach-churning footage shows how the reptile spread its jaws wide open and the slime-covered moggy emerged.

Sadly, the cat named Suer, which means tiger in Thai language, was lifeless.

Suer's devastated owners said the cat loved prowling around the garden.

Rosarin, 28, said: ''Suer was about three years old and we have had him since he was born. He was here every day, just walking around the garden and playing.

''I never thought we would lose him in such a horrible way. It has made me really sad and I'm worried about our other animals. I don't feel safe now.''

Staff from the region's Snake Rescue Team took the python to their office where he was cleaned.

They then today (05/08) released the killer python into a canal behind their building.
