Shocker: Toddler falls out of moving car and sleepy parents don't notice until 50km later
In a shocking incident, a toddler was injured after falling off a moving vehicle in the southern Indian state of Kerala.
The incident took place on Sept. 8 night at Rajamala forest area in Idukki district's Munnar town.
The visual captured on CCTV camera showed the one-year-old toddler crawling on the street after falling off from the Jeep.
According to reports, the toddler, identified as Rohitha alias Ammu, who was sitting on her mother’s laugh, fell as the vehicle took a turn.
The vehicle is said to have travelled a distance of 30 miles with the parents realising that their child had fallen off the Jeep.
The toddler's parents, Satheesh and Sathyabhama, were returning from a ritual at Tamil Nadu’s Palani temple.
However, the infant managed to crawl to a nearby forest check post.
The forest officials on duty saw the crawling baby from a CCTV and rushed to the spot to rescue her.
She was then given first aid and handed over to the police.
Fortunately, the toddler sustained only minor injuries.
The child was taken to a private hospital in Munnar while Police and Childline were informed.
It was only after the parents reached home at 12.30 am, that the parents discovered that their child was missing and complained to the Vellathooval police station in Idukki district.
They were then told that their baby had been found in Munnar. The child was handed over to the family later.
The incident is said to have occurred as the baby’s mother fell asleep during the journey.
The Rajamala area is said to be infamous for attacks by wild animals and stray dogs.
