A statue of the Chinese sea goddess Mazu was spotted travelling on a bullet train with a real ticket in southern China's Putian city on September 6.

The video shows the giant statue of Mazu in a red and yellow robe sitting in a first-class seat on a bullet train from Putian to Kunshan.

Two still pictures show Mazu's train ticket and ID with her ID number and her real name, Lin Mo, on it.

The statue is reportedly being escorted to Kunshan by her two followers for an event and the application of her travel has been approved by related departments.

Mazu is a Chinese sea goddess, whose real name was Lin Mo or Lin Moniang. She is believed to protect fishermen and sailors from falling into harm.
