Underwater rugby (UWR), or, as locals call it, "vízirögbi", is a new challenge where you can test your swimming skills. Looking a lot like the origins of water polo, which later got reshaped by German army divers to be played in diving pools. The game is intense, but the players claim that anyone can learn it. There is another Hungarian team which just played at the World Championships this year so The Current focuses on those who are just getting started. The club's motto is to enjoy the game and have as much as fun as possible, which makes the training a popular family activity. Players practice swimming first, then learn to handle the ball so they can learn tackles, passes, etc. For how tough it looks, there are very few injuries in UWR.
