This unlucky butcher in central Thailand had to be rescued after trying to clear a blocked plughole with his finger, only to get stuck, necessitating a rescue team to save him.

Boonrat Yamboon, 36, was cleaning the sink at a stall in Ang Thong on the morning of September 4, when he tried to clear the blockage by poking his finger and became firmly stuck.

Boonrat's colleagues tried to use dish-washing liquid as a lubricant without success so they contacted a rescue team, who used metal cutting tools to widen the hole to free him, who was taken to hospital for treatment.

Boonrat commented: ''My finger kept swelling and the more I moved, the more stuck it was. Next time I will use a rubber suction tool to clear blockages.

"It wasn't very smart to put my finger in but I have done it like that every time without problems.'
