Students terrified after 10-foot-python drops into class at university in Thailand
A python sparked panic after slithering into a class full of terrified students at a university in Thailand.
Engineering students were having a lecture at Thammasat University in Phatum Thani province on September 6 when the snake appeared.
The shocked pupils watched as the 10-foot-long beast fell from the ceiling onto the professor's desk, while trying to escape the afternoon heat.
The snake then slithered across the cool tiles while the whole class were screaming and scattering in chaos.
Footage shows how the school's security guard rushed to the rescue by the snake's tail with their bare hands before tying its head with a long lasso.
The python was finally caught and released back into the wild several miles away from the university. None of the students or teachers were injured from the incident.
Horrified student Kan Youngpolakhan said: ''Our university has a lot of trees and ponds, which are perfect habitats for reptiles especially snakes and monitor lizards. We have seen some of them walking around but have never seen them in class like this.
''Everything happened so fast and we were totally in panic. But I'd say that the snake really woke us up from the boring calculus class.''
