This is the shocking moment a group of villagers make a ghastly discovery of a deer dangling from an iron gate.

The spikes on the gate had torn into the skin of the poor animal forcing it to hang it in mid air.

The shocking incident occurred at a coffee estate in Hurudi village near Sakleshpur in southern India on September 10.

With no other way to free the deer, one of them took a machete and slashed the skin of the deer, which fell to the ground and ran back to the forest.

H. C. Harish, the owner of the coffee estate said: “The deer probably came across a speeding vehicle on the road. Scared, it must tried to run and leapt over the gate and hit the spikes.”

Local forest officials said they had no information on the injured deer.
