Dirty sewer water flooded a road in the Philippines forcing residents to use a makeshift plastic raft to cross safely on September 10.

Local Rowena Capistrano said that the water has blackened after being stuck on the place for so long: "There was no proper drainage, so the flood water from the sewers get stuck here after the typhoon."

The neighbourhood in Poblacion Pardo, Cebu has also been tolerating the putrid smell for months thinking that the water will go away on its own.

However, Rowena said that a mini-river has formed on the road which made it even harder for people to pass by.

"We use rubber boots to avoid getting contact with the water."

Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella directed the City Engineering’s Office (CEO) to immediately siphon the floodwater trapped on a street in Barangay Poblacion Pardo.
