A brush fire in California that broke out on Saturday in the Juniper Flats area between Perris and San Jacinto forced the mandatory evacuations of more than 200 people, according to local authorities.

More than 200 firefighters were battling the blaze along with two air tankers and one helicopter, fire officials said.

[UPDATE] 9/14/19 @ 11:30 pm - The fire is currently 200 acres and 10% contained.

[UPDATE] 9/14/19 @ 8:40 pm - The fire is currently 100 acres and 0% contained. A care and reception center has been established at Tahquitz High School, 4425 Titan Trail, Hemet.

[UPDATE] 9/14/19 @ 6:40 pm - The fire is currently 75 acres and 0% contained.

CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to reports of fire near the 21000 block of Stagecoach Trail, in Juniper Flats. The first arriving engine reported the fire burning in heavy fuels with a moderate rate of spread. Currently the fire is 10 acres and 0% contained. More information will be posted as it becomes available. Evacuation Comments: A care and reception center has been established at Tahquitz High School, 4425 Titan Trail, Hemet. Evacuations are in place in San Jacinto near the intersection of Cottonwood Avenue and Warren Road. Homes, in this community, to the west of Warren Road and south of Mulberry Street are under a mandatory evacuation. Cause: Under Investigation
