Stranded dogs rescued from floods in Thailand that have killed 33 people so far
This is the heart-warming moment a family of dogs were rescued from a floodwater that had submerged a house.
The animal rescuer team patrolled through the flood waters searching for stranded animals in Ubon Ratchathani, northeastern Thailand.
Heavy rain has battered the region in recent weeks affecting more than a million residents and leaving at least 33 people dead.
Video recorded last Tuesday (11/09) night shows the moment rescuers shone their torch into the dark wreckage before noticing the shivering pooches.
They hauled them to safety then paddled through the property to collect other stray dogs battling to stay alive in the water.
The Thai Animal Guadian Association (AGA) founder Roger Lohanan said he had been working through the night to save dogs left behind in the floods after locals were all evacuated.
He said: "Saving the dogs from drowning made me happy and we are willing to do more and continue the work.
''Many kind people have leant boats, equipment and supplies of food and water to help our search for the dogs.''
Downpours from tropical storms Podul and Kajiki storms have affected more than 500,000 people in the north of Thailand, according to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
Hundreds of thousands more in the neighbouring country of the People's Democratic Republic Of Laos have also been displaced.
The four worst affected provinces in Thailand - Ubon Ratchathani, Yasothon, Roi Et, and Sisaket - are still under up to 10 metres of water in places.
