Family in India has bizarre trait where many have 12 finger or 14 toes

A family of 25 members in central India has a recurring condition where many have six fingers on each hand and seven toes to each foot.

The family resides in the Kawla village of Athner district, Madhya Pradesh state, and suffer from a defect known as Hexadectyly.

The head of the family Taatu Yewle’s wife has 12 fingers, with the condition transmitting down the next three generations.

The condition has caused ridicule and lifestyle complications as get the proper size of shoes. They cannot even run properly or get a job in the army.

The son of Taatu Yewle says, ‘This may be fascinating for others and researchers but it not anything less than a curse for us.’
