Flash flood turns dry mountain into raging 75-foot waterfall in Arizona

This is the moment a drone captured a rare flash flood on a mountain top, causing it to transform into a raging waterfall in Arizona.

The clip, filmed on September 15, shows the moment adventure photographer Paul Verdugo watched as the waterfall formed and started to cascade down the rock face at Tanque Verde Falls east of Tucson.

“I managed to time this rare occurrence by studying the remote rain gauges and streamflow gauges on Pima County's alert system website,” the filmer, Paul, explained.

“This was a bit more challenging as the canyon was completely dry and every single pool above it had to fill up before spilling over to the next. My patience and willingness paid off, however, my battery on my drone was low during this footage and the propellers shut off mid-air before I could safely land,” he continued.
