A van flipped onto its roof after "tailgating" a small car on the Leicester Western Bypass in footage that has recently emerged online.

Footage captured on May 15, 2018, shows the cars suddenly stop when the van careers over another lane and flips onto its roof on the banking.

Incident at around a minute in but added longer footage so you could see the speed and tailgating the van was doing. I was at 70mph. Van is limited to 60 on a dual carriageway and was probably doing nearer 80 and no more than a couple of car lengths off the bumper of the Fiat after catching her up. Further back in the queue, drivers went the wrong way up the slip road to avoid the traffic queues. Don't know what caused the crash other than knowing the van was far too close.
