Description
3 people were left homeless in this blaze of which 2 people were transported for burns to the local hospital.

9.24.2019, Box 40, 23-25 Gold Street. At approximately 0800 the Shamokin Fire Bureau was dispatched for a working house fire.
Multiple calls reporting fire showing. Chief 10 Rogers arrived on the scene confirming the fire also reporting exposure issues there for requesting a second alarm be transmitted.
First two engines responding E111 and E11 both wore were ordered to establish water supplies and lay in to the scene. A 2 1/2 along with 1 3/4 were pulled from engine 111 putting water on the fire quickly. Crews from 111, 11 and R62 were able to make a push and have the fire knocked down in about 45 minutes.
Responding were all SFB units, Chief Rogers and Jeffery. E111, Quint 294, Ladder 2, Squad 221 and Engine 21 Area Services ALS and BLS and SPD.
The SFB would like to thank all you responded to assist this morning.
Fire Fighters had to deal with live downed power lines as PP & L (Power company) would not drop the grid until a fire chief on scene had time to call. PP & L would not take the word of the county dispatch.
