This is the scary moment a man manages to escape death while an elephant charges towards him in an eastern Indian village.

The visual was captured on Sept. 24 near Sakradari village in West Bengal's Jhargram district.

Visuals showed the man fleeing the spot along with four pet goats and managing to evade the charging elephant.

Had it not done so, the male tusker would have crushed the man and the quadrupeds to death.

Reports said the elephant raided the village and even injured a man in the process.

The man, identified as Sujoy Ghosh, was rushed to a hospital where he is presently recuperating.

Elephants are a common sight in and around Jhargram as the pachyderms reside in the surrounding forest.

The elephants often raid villages in search of food and water.

At least two people have died earlier this month in a similar attack, according to reports.
