A motor scooter rider was seriously injured on Friday (September 27) when he rode into a moving train in India.

CCTV footage captured in the Anand district of Gujarat state shows several people waiting for a train to pass at a level crossing.

Suddenly, a man appears to lose control of his motor scooter and slams straight into the side of the moving train.

He is thrown off his bike and lies motionless by the side of the tracks.

According to reports, he was taken to hospital where he was treated for serious injuries.

This is the scary moment a careless bike rider suffers an injury after bumping into a moving train in western India.

The incident, which was captured in CCTV cameras, took place in Gujarat's Anand district on Sept. 27 .

Visuals showed a group of riders waiting near a level crossing as a train pass it.

While the train was about to pass through, a rider carelessly accelerates his bike and bumps into the train.

Reports said the biker suffered a crippling injury and had his legs amputated.

He was rushed to a hospital by locals.
