A secondary school in central India has transformed its classrooms into a train to attract more students.

Teachers at the school in Khajari village in Madya Pradesh state were so concerned about attendance at the rural school that they decided a colourful makeover was a good idea.

Now renamed "Khajari Junction", the school's six main building have been painted on the outside like the carriages of a train which make up the "Education Express."

According to the teachers, the remodelled school has seen a 70 per cent jump in attendance in the first week.

An elusive train in Dindori has resulted in a spurt in student attendance at the secondary school in Khajari village in Amarpur development block – 12 km from Dindori district headquarters.
Concerned over poor attendance at the school which houses three classes – VI, VII and VIII – the staff of the school collected their money to remodel the school into “Khajari junction” railway station and painted the six rooms there as engine and coaches of Education Express train to encourage students to study in train-shaped classes.
This remodeling has coated school staff
around Rs 40,000 .
According to one of the teacher in school This step has resulted very well, student attendance jumped to 70% in just a week. The principal room is remodeled as the engine of the train. Total strength of school is 96 ,earlier only 50 students on an average come to school but after the initiative average Attendence is 87 says the principal Santosh uike .
