A video has emerged of a man saving a child from drowning in an open drain in western India.

The incident, which was captured on CCTV cameras, took place on Sept. 29 in Rajasthan's Jodhpur city.

Visuals show a child running on the street when suddenly she trips and falls near the drain.

She is seen trying to get up and leave when she slips and falls again into an eight-feet deep open drain.

Luckily, a man from the nearby store runs and pulls her out in time, saving her from a potentially fatal accident.

The child is then taken away to safety and has been confirmed to be alright.

The child has been identified as Vaishnavi, 4, while her saviour is identified as Jyotiram Patil.
