This is the shocking moment a bridge collapsed in Taiwan on Tuesday (October 1).
CCTV footage from a nearby coastguard's building shows how the vehicle was just yards from reaching the other side of the Nanfangao Bridge when it suddenly gave way.
The truck plunged into the water while the concrete structure landed on several fishing boats.
Rescue workers in Suao township in Yilan province said five people are believed to have been on the bridge when it collapsed.
Those injured included people in the truck, on boats below and others on the bridge. Several people have been taken to hospital with serious injuries while others were still missing.
More than 60 army and naval officers, including scuba divers, are searching for victims and survivors from the tragedy.
