Heartbreaking moment starving dog chained to concrete block is given a drink for the first time in days
This is the heartbreaking moment a dog chained and starved by its cruel owner was given a drink of water for the first time in days.
The Aspin dog, nicknamed "Buddy" by passerby JR Dela Pena, was chained to a concrete block with no shade, water or food.
The starving pooch was visibly hungry with its bones poking through its disheveled fur.
JR said that he has been giving Buddy some of his lunch every day since he found him on September 24 in Pasay City, the Philippines.
The place where Buddy was tied is on the way to JR's workplace so he was able to visit him everyday.
He said: "I have been wandering where his owner is and why they left him like that. There was another dog tied near Buddy, but at least he was getting shade."
JR said he has already lodged a reported to the village officials about it and hopes that Buddy is rescued and taken to a better place.
Good Samritan JR said he has not been able cut the think metal chains and fears that Buddy could be hurt if he wanders away.
He added: ''Somebody does not want him to leave. I will keep taking care of Buddy while he is stuck here and I have told the officials about him.
''If I unchain him his owner could be angry and blame me. But I am taking care of the dog and will keep checking on him to see if anybody returns for him.''
