Locals outraged as thousands flock to Uluru for final chance to scale sacred rock before climbing ban is enforced
Locals are outraged as thousands of tourists flock to the sacred Uluru rock in central Australia for their final chance to scale the rock before a ban is enforced.
Filmed on September 29, Daniel from Brisbane captured the vast queues that formed at the base of the monolith as people rushed to climb the rock.
The ban is set to start on October 26 as the local Anangu people consider the site to be sacred.
Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock, is a large sandstone rock formation and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site.
